The power of music is something very important we need to look into, we live in a world of music, everything things is connected to sounds but we are go to focus on the major topic of music and the value of music.
Here in the Enternal ones this topic "THE POWER OF MUSIC" is a topic we will be taking in episodes because there is so much to talk about.
You need to know this, you need to understand that music has so much power that we are not paying attention to and we all are victims of this, our lack of knowledge on the impact of music and sounds upon us has either affected us negatively or positively, it goes two ways in this.
The right songs have the power to change your life positively in a very short period of time, also the wrong songs have the power to change your life for worse in a very short period of time, the point here is be careful about the kind of songs you listen to.
Let's look at the creation of music and why it was created.
Before we discuss deep into the creation of music and why it was created let's take a look at a very important scripture in the Bible.
Job 38:4-7, “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone, while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?
Here in this scripture we just looked at, it gave us an idea of how old music has been in existence and no one on earth knows the exact time music was created because in this scripture God was correcting job and He made a very important statement, " Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?" "while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?" This is so strong, this statement alone proves to us that music has been in existence before the earth was created and before Man was even created, music has been long in existence, wow.
Isaiah 14:12, How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
Here we see that even Satan (the devil) who was called Lucifer before he Lost his place in heaven, was also a morning star in heaven whose primary assignment was music.
Now we understand why Satan and his followers capitalize so much on music in this world today, this is why you will hear this saying from very popular celebrities, saying they sold their soul for money and Fame.
And this scriptures has just helped us understand why music was created, it was created for the sake of worship.
Yes music was created for the sake of worship, to worship God Almighty our Creator.
Psalm 96:1-2, Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.
Psalm 33:1-2, Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Okay now we have an idea of how old music is and we have discussed about why it was created.
Now we will discuss about the power of music.
Ephesians 5:18-19, Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,
It's says let us not be drunk on wine or alcoholic substance but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, this just showed us how spiritual music is and how it's deal directly with our souls and spirit, music deals with the real man, it deals with the real you, your soul and spirit, so this has clearly shown us that the state of the music will define the state of the listener.
The kind of songs you listen to will define the kind of person you are or will be either negative or positive, it is the highest form of meditation that deal's directly with your soul.
So be careful the kind of songs you listen to, as we discussed earlier it has the power to change your life positively or negatively depending on the kind of songs you listen to.
2 Kings 3:15, But now bring me a harpist.” While the harpist was playing, the hand of the Lord came on Elisha.
This is power, do you know what the hand of the Lord symbolizes in this scripture, this verse just showed us how powerful music can be, it so powerful to the point where it can bring the very spirit of God, the creator of heaven and earth, the Almighty God Himself, the spirit of God to come upon you, wow this is how powerful music is, this is what it means when it says the hand of the Lord came on Elisha.
1 Samuel 16:23, Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.
This is very interesting because here will see something unusual, saul at that time was going through punishment from God because of a sin he committed against God, so God allowed an evil spirit to torment him, yes evil spirit are Spirits that chooses not to walk in according to what they where created for, instead of walking in love they choose to be wicked and rebel against God, thank God there is a judgment day, they will all meet their end. But I want us to noticed something very important here. "David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him" David is known to be a man after God's heart, so when ever he begins to sings a song of worship to God the mercy of God is made available and the evil spirit will have to run away because the presence of God has come upon that place.
So now I have a question, what do you think will happen when you decide to listen or decide to sing a music that does not glorify God? Because when David sings evil spirits flee, so what do you think happens when the song is not for God.
It's an open call in the spirit realm, calling the spirits of destruction and torments because music is highly spiritual.
John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God loves us so much He doesn't want us to end up like this evil spirits, He doesn't want us to end up in Hell, this is why when we rebel against God right from the beginning of Mankind, the sin committed by the first man "Adam", from that moment all men was condemned to end up in Hell. And we lost our place to live with God in eternity forever, but because of the great love God have for us he sent His own son Jesus Christ our Lord to take our place of condemnation.
2 Corinthians 5:21, God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Life will not end in this world you need to know this truth, either will it end in heaven.
Revelation 21:1, Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
Yes there is a new world coming, save yourself by giving your life to Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:1, Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
God doesn't want you to listen to songs that will take you away from Him, because He loves you so much, think about this carefully.
