How the devil uses temptations to stop your blessings
Through out history it is well known that the devil tempts men, many are victims and many are victorious over the devil.
On this message we will get to know how the devil gets to capitalize on our weaknesses and Most times makes us the victims of his games.
Just as Jesus Christ our Lord said " you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free", we all need to know this truth because our lives depends on it.
Below are scriptures we need to look into.
James 1:13-15
[13]When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
[14]but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.
[15]Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
Matthew 4:2-11
[2]After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
[3]The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
[4]Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ”
[5]Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
[6]“If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“ ‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ ”
[7]Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ”
[8]Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
[9]“All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
[10]Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ ”
[11]Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
Ephesians 1:18-22
[18]I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,
[19]and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength
[20]he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
[21]far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
[22]And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
Philippians 2:9-11
[9]Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
[10]that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
[11]and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
Isaiah 59:1-2
[1]Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save,
nor his ear too dull to hear.
[2]But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.
Psalm 66:18-19
[18]If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;
[19]but God has surely listened
and has heard my prayer.
Romans 3:23
[23]for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
1 John 1:9
[9]If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
